If you’re like me, this weekend is going to include a bit of last-minute Christmas shopping because…holy cow -t’s Christmas next weekend!!! This month has FLOWN by, and I can’t even tell you how excited I am to see + smooch all my nieces and nephews again!!! I’m having major auntie withdrawals over here and Facetime is just not quite cutting the mustard anymore!

I don’t know about you, but our families have quite a mix of ages ranging from the little kiddos to Grandmas so finding gifts can get a little tricky! As I was making a list (and checking it twice!), I thought I’d share a few gift ideas with you just in case you are looking for a few last-minute ideas for a loved one or someone on your list too! Below are a few things i absolutely LOVE…some are gifts we’ve received this year that I just adore, a few are items that have been highlights over the past year, and a few others are things that made me think of someone specific which is the best gift feeling!

Okay, okay, okay…here are a few of my favorite things:
1. Fun jewelry from 31 Bits: this company has such unique designs + fun colors and what I especially love about this shop is each piece is handmade by artisans from Uganda and Indonesia…and each purchase goes back to helping and funding the lives of these amazing artists! How amazing is that?!?
2. I seriously believe Anthropologie candles are made with extra love because their smells are so darn delicious! My favorite scents this year have been the Pecan Pie and Sweet Vanilla Cinnamon. The signature Volcano candle is ALWAYS a good one too!
3. Rising Strong: this book, oh, this book! It was one of those life-changer books for me this past year! If you have a book lover in the family, or maybe someone going through a challenging time, this is such an inspiring read!
4. I adore Jenna Kutcher’s designs and love her mugs! Such a fun way to share a sentiment with a friend or loved one! I bought Allan the ‘Oh darling, let’s be homebodies’ mug a few months ago because let’s be honest, him and I are homebodies to the max! She has such fun types + sayings AND today…she is offering 15% off all orders – woo hoo!
5. I love me some Ina, so when she wrote Cooking for Jeffrey, I knew it was a must-get for the bakers and cookers in my family!
6. Spotted this ADORABLE Ugly Sweater Cookie Kit in Trader Joe’s the other day and couldn’t resist! It was super cheap and such a fun little decorating project for the kids before or at Christmas!!!
7. Some of my most cherished gifts over the years have been recipes passed down from generation to generation. What better (and more budget friendly I might add) thing to give than a recipe you love to a loved one? And to personalize your recipe a bit more, head to Tip Junkie for a free printable recipe cards
8. For the cheese lover in your life this Marble Cheese Knives Set is sure to make their cheese dreams come to life! Let’s just say, I know someone who knows someone that knows from experience. We’ll leave it at that.
9. A sweet friend sent us this monogrammed ornament from Barn Love last week and I adore it! Its made from real wood + such a fun way to personalize a gift for a family or newly married couple in your life!
10. Still looking for a gift for your mother-in-law or friend and don’t know what to do? Don’t worry I got you covered! How about gifting them a Photo Session!!! What better way to personalize a gift than to give a way for them to have their family captured together forever! Email me at hello@lisadejagerphotography.com and I’ll send you a gift certificate just in time for Christmas!

Happy weekend/shopping all!

P.S. Below is a recipe (#7) I was given from my Oma…hope you enjoy!

Butter Cookies:

2 cubes of butter (soften – not microwave)
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients and knead by hand. Form into walnut-sized balls. Press down with fork to flatten top. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Especially delicious when paired with hot tea and the company of your favorite person(s).
