I have become a frequent visitor to Washington over the years, and have met some amazing people while traveling to and fro. One of those individuals is Angela. She is a talented cosmetologist, and a fabulous human being with a heart as big as the ocean. So when I received an email from Alyson, mentioning she too knew Angela and wondered if I’d be available to document her senior portraits while I was in Washington, I knew I had to work with this girl!  
 
We met in downtown Sunnyside and I don’t even think the car was completely to a full stop as Alyson began leaping from the passenger side towards me exclaiming her excitement and then giving me a hug. I was already excited to document her senior session and within an instant, I knew this session was going to be a blast!  
 
You know those people you meet in your life and they leave an impression on you? Those individuals you meet and you just know they are going to make the world better because they are part of it? The type of person that adds life to the lives around them?  
 
That’s this girl. That’s: Alyson Spidle.

Alyson is beginning her SENIOR year (woot woot!) at Sunnyside High and says she can’t wait for this school year! She admittedly says she loves high school (unlike some) and will be sad when its over, and is most looking forward to experiencing all the ‘lasts’ of the school year with her classmates: the last home football game, last English class, last school dance. Love this!

Okay, a little background before I continue. Alyson has an entourage. Well, let me clarify. Her mom and bestie, Payton, came along to the shoot. It was kind of fun to think we were her entourage as we roamed around town though! And besides, every girl should have an entourage when they have a photo shoot, right?! But let me tell you, this is one of my favorite things: the entourage. I lovelovelove having the people that love and support be a part of this experience. It was so fun to see how much Payton and Alyson’s mom love her, and vice versa.

Following graduation next year, Alyson says she is looking into studying Pathology and minoring in Theatre Arts, and hopes in doing so, to combine her loves of reading, writing, theatre, and languages into one!

This girl is seriously chalk-full of talent. For reals. And I’m pretty sure the town of Sunnyside knows too because they crowned her their Miss Sunnyside!!! SO AMAZING!!!

Alyson says being crowned Miss Sunnyside has been one of her biggest accomplishments during her high school years and something that has left the biggest impact too. “I got to spend a whole year giving back to the community that helped raise me,” she said, “and I couldn’t imagine a better way my time could have been spent.”

After portraits around Sunnyside, we headed out to the country to capture some portraits in the grape fields….

Walking through the grape fields during this time of year has to be one of THE best aromas EVER! I had never experienced this and couldn’t get over how fragrant the vines were! Not to mention, a beautiful backdrop for portraits too!

This girl is smart beyond her years. I have to share another thing Alyson shared with me… because I loved it and I couldn’t agree more!
