This was my first wedding in Idaho and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a wee bit nervous. Coming from California where the weather is predictably sunny most days of the year, I felt like I was entering new frontier in Idaho. Allan and I drove up a day early to do a little bit of scouting, and get a better lay of the land for the wedding day. As we arrived, the rain clouds above began to as well. Greg (the groom) ran over to greet us and promptly looked towards my feet and then back up at me and asked if I brought other shoes along. Nooooooooo!!!! I had packed extra batteries, extra protein bars, extra lighting gear, Smarties, hangers, extension cords….how in the world could I have overlooked my shoes?!?
You guys, here’s the thing. Every time I shoot, EVERY time, I learn something new. This particular time, I learned it is essential to bring all-weather shoes to new locations. And yes, I ended up wearing a guests black fur-lined boots on the wedding day (Thanks Brenda!). But I learned something else this day…no shoe, or weather or state changes the most important part of a wedding day…and that is two people committing their lives together, forever.
Amber and Greg were married at Cavanaugh’s Resort, along the glass blue waters of Priest Lake. It was a day filled with so much love, and happy tears, and friends from all different states, and mostly, it was a celebration of a new beginning for these two, a new chapter of life together, now as husband and wife.

Loved all the pops of teal throughout the day, but I have to say, the bride’s SJP shoes were my favorite!
Amber’s dress from Marcella’s Bridal was beyond gorgeous!
The bride and her beautiful bridesmaids!
The bridesmaids seeing Amber in her dress for the first time…
Amber, you were the most stunning bride!
One of my faves!
Before the bride and groom shared their First Look, we captured a few of Greg and his guys on the dock…
This. This is why I LOVE first looks! Greg’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was priceless…
The ceremony site was tented as the rain settled in overhead…but no weather could stop these two from getting married!
Officially Mr. and Mrs.!!!!
Just as the ceremony commenced, the rain gave way to blue skies and THE most gorgeous backdrop for these two newlyweds!
My favorite!
So much excitement in the air!!!
Another favorite!
After portraits on the dock, we headed back to the resort where the celebration continued with dinner and of course, LOTS of dancing!
I’ll end with this one…of these two lovebirds sharing their first dance as husband and wife….
