She was a scribe in the hospital at the time and assigned to the Emergency Department, he just so happened to be an EMT in the same department. Her long hair and smile caught his eye and over the next several weeks Brett worked overtime trying to find moments here and there to chat with Stephanie. It was on one such occasion he noted her new glasses she was wearing. His note was noticed…Stephanie blushed at his observation, and later went home thinking about the ‘cute tech Brett’ at work.
A few weeks later, Brett asked Stephanie on a date and she happily said “YES!” Three years later, on a weekend getaway to their favorite lake town of Tahoe, Brett brought Stephanie to Zephyr Cove to watch the sunset, telling her he wanted to get a picture of them by the shore with the sun setting behind them. Brett carefully set his camera and returned, running to Stephanie, but instead of facing the camera for a picture, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She answered with that same happy “YES!” as he slid a band of forever on her finger.
