A few weeks back, I met Derek at the historic Clarks Ranch in Chowchilla to document his senior portraits. I love shooting at this location. It’s rich in history, and full of texture, beautiful light, and lots of rustic character!

As I thought about my approaching session with Derek, I was filled with sentiment. Three years prior, I had the privilege of documenting his brother’s senior portraits, so getting to capture Derek’s too was such a honor! I can’t say enough good things about this family! They are just wonderful, so down-to-earth, and I have loved getting to know them over the years! Oh shoot, here I go feeling all sentimental all over again!

Here are a few of my faves from Derek’s senior session….
Two of my favorites! Love the pop of blue on left!
Following his graduation from Chowchilla High in a few weeks, Derek will be heading to Reedley College where he will be playing baseball and studying Ag Business!
Love the sun on this one!
Ah! Love this one!
I love incorporating meaningful things into a shoot and THIS was extra special! The glove on right is the glove Derek’s Grandpa left to the boys when he passed away. Love this!
Derek plays center field on his team and was asked to play for Reedley College after the coach watched him play. Um….yeah, that is amazing!!!!!
Derek hopes to one day play baseball at Fresno State in the future…go Bulldogs!
Holy schmoly! When I was taking the picture on the right, I couldn’t believe Derek’s resemblance to Mark Wahlberg!!! Can you see it?
We ended the session in a field with Derek’s newly painted pick-up, just as the sun went down! It was the perfect ending to an amazing shoot!
Derek, thank you for the honor of documenting your senior portraits! Your strong, genuine character is going to be a great asset to this world as you begin your next chapter in life!!!
